omg im having a war against HP's tech support. My 12V rail should run at more than 5.055Volts right?

shes telling me that if it doesnt get all 12V that the computer wont start. and im like yelling at her.

Are you measuring this with a voltmeter or through a program in windows?

program but i know its not getting enough volts becuase it runns like $h*t. There telling me that the componant controlls the amount of voltage it takes in. and BLAH.

Firstly, if your 12v rail is running at 5.055v your computer SHOULDN'T start, she is right about that. Make sure you are reading the correct rail with your software program, or, better yet, get a volt meeter and check the rails your self. If you are 100% sure that the 12v rail is running at 5.055v and she still wont believe you, ask to speak with a supervisor.

I'm assuming you are trying to get an warranty return on the PSU? If your still under warranty, get a line and stick with it. Something like "The PSU in my computer is bad. My system is still under warranty, and I require a replacement PSU. If you can not authorize this, please transfer me to your supervisor". No mater what she wants you to do, just keep saying that, and eventually you will get someone who can send out the part

Yeah, I already tryed that one. She sayd her only options are for me to return the computer to bestbuy or send it in for servicing. I was like Can you just send me a replacement part and she was being really bad about stuff. SO i was like F*** this im going to best buy.
