Supreme Commander + Vista

Thread Starter
If anybody else has a similar setup compared to mine - does Supreme Commander usually crash late game with ~7 bots for you? I am fairly sure that this is a Vista issue.

Well i know for sure in XP it shouldn't crash when it is just you and AIs.
Regardless of your hardware *unless it is unstable* i do not think the game should crash, it would simply lag.

SupCom can really work out your CPU, i know it has crashed me on several slightly unstable OCs where folding and other games have not.

Make sure you are stable, if you are, then i would blame vista.

mirunit, your overclock might not be stable, Sumpreme Commander is one of the few games that actually will load more then 1 core, meaning that your processor is under alot higher load in supreme commander than nearly every other game on the market.

I recommend downloading:

Run Small FFTs tests for around 3-4 hours. Also monitor your temps with Coretemp during this.

SupCom discussion, yay. I'd destroy anyone here, unless they're good...then nevermind that.

Anyway, regarding your crash: All I know right now is that, in both Vista and XP, there is indeed a late-game crash when you play against 7 AIs on a 81x81km map (that's the largest, right?). This is due to some sort of memory leak or other that GPG has yet to fix. No matter what computer you have, it will crash under these conditions. I'd suggest staying away from those huge maps for now.
