Good job on the cut! Nice to see you keeping us updated too.
I've been thinking about screwing my window to my side panel for my Soprano mod and maybe the same for the V1200. I have stainless hex head screws for this and was planning to use a thin rubber seal between them. Gluing would make for a clean look though but hard to remove if you ever needed to. Keep the pics coming .

Are you using a Jigsaw or Dremel for that cut?

I was thinking of glue, but then I saw this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=WpZoE-zj0-k

I'm just going to run out to lowes this week and pick up a roll of 3M Scotch #4010.

I used a Dremel. Starting off at a slow speed w/ a ruler to get the line, then a higher speed to get a good groove in the metal. Then I turned the baby up to full power and hacked right through it ^_^

After that, I spent a good hour with a file/straight edge getting everything pretty much straight. The only edge that isn't completely (or near completely) straight is the left side of the mesh-filter. It's got a bit of an indent, but I can't seem to file it completely out. I'll have to spend a good deal more time on it today.

I went to Taco Bell for breakfast (w00t) this morning and stopped by Lowes (same parking lot basically) and tried to find the 3M Scotch Double Sided Tape #4010, but they didn't have any at all. Wal Mart didn't have any either, so I just got this:

I'll tell you why I'm going to replace it later on.

After that, I got home and cut out the peices I needed to mount the window securely (this particular tape can hold 5lbs per square inch, no problems holding in the acrylic).

Here's the final product. Now, I still need to take the acrylic back off (wonders of tape-mounting) and paint over the edges with a black paint-doused cloth.

Also, something I didn't expect or foresee, was that the tape not being a clear color makes it clearly visible in the reflection of the mirror when looking for any angle. I'm a little broke though, and can't find the #4010 (clear) tape anywhere around here, so I'll have to replace the current tape when I can get the money to order some off the internet.

In other news. . . .

I picked up two fan filters for my radiator. These are black-colored aluminum filters, which I plan on mounting on the under side of the radiator when I install it in the case (fans will pull air through the bottom of the rad, up into the case).

I smoke, and having my rad mounted on the top of my case with no filter has killed it with dust, so these were a must.

I should be getting my fillport and t-fitting this week. I don't know how I'm going to cut the hole out yet, the only hole saw i have is a 1.5'' hole saw, i use it for tubing-cuts and the fillport needs a 1'' hole.

I would also like to say that I think I have an idea for the "Odio" logo placement.

I saw this worklog on Bit-tech.net forums and thought it might be a good idea to mount the remaining aluminum from my side panel (the cut-out peice) in the front bays, leaving enough for one or two 5.25'' drives, covering the front with clear acrylic and the cutting out the "Odio" logo near the bottom-center, add backlight.

Here's what I am roughly planning:

All of the modified drive covers will be covered with a clear acrylic, I might even add in some LEDs to the edge of the acrylic to give it a lighted effect. The round things are supposed to be fan controllers, I might do that or just the original light-switches i had in mind, although i could hide those switches and save money (i have to buy the LED-rocker switches, I only have regular ones).

What do you think?

Thanks! I'll most likely be replacing the tape I used with something clear (the grey tape shows up at an angle in the mirror). So far, it holds like cement, but doesn't leave a mark at ALL on the panel when removed (I did a test strip, left it for 10 minutes, tugged it off).

The backlit logo will be good, but hard I think. I don't think I'll be able to get the "dirty text" look of that font, but if I do my cuts carefully and don't make them all tooo straight, it should come out with a nice effect.

Some of the Unibits I use. 1/2 to 1 1/4 in. shown here. They are quick and easy to use. The only bad thing is they are a little expensive, about $20 to $75 bucks.
Keep the pics coming . You're doin great!

Yeah, I've seen those before, I think a hole saw is a little less expensive, but then again, you can do multiple hole sizes with one of those right?
