That lcd should run off of 12v, you should have 12v all over in your case. Use a dvm to find it, but verify with a google search for "computer power supply 12v pin out" http://pinouts.ru/Power/atx12v_pinout.shtml

The lcd should draw very minimal current, so you could use 3M T-taps "use blue or Yellow" and female Quick disconnects "blue insulated, even if you use the yellow t-tap" to tap the power.http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=531
http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item/4225/196/1_4"#34;_FULLY_INSULATED_MALE,_BLUE_.html

The above links are for refrence only, I have never gotten them from these sites, just so you know what I am talking about.

I would recomend a small fuse 5a should be plenty for a small lcd screen. Just make sure that the lcd runs off of 12v. Look at the external power supply box, it should be marked for output voltage.

It says 12VDC output 1.3a, so how would I make it work with the PSU? Would I just put a 12v line to the plug-in spot or what? <---I'm a n00b at this stuff.

Like I said when I first got the idea to do this mod, I will be using the S-Video connector on my 7900GT vs having to work with soldering and what-not. I want to keep it simple as pie

So, after trying out PowerStrip for this, I figured out that it's not much better than Nvidia's control panel. It slightly fixed the color problem I'm having (at certain angles, whites/greys look redish), but it would just be one more thing to hassle with.

I did try out UltraMon to get a different background on the smaller LCD.

Here's pictures:

This was taken early on in my playing around. The quality isn't so good. 800x600 res set in the windows properties. I got a better quality after I used Nvidia's control panel to set the res to 640x480.

This is Winamp, say hello. A bit better on the quality, but fine details like small text still run into trouble with this display.

ODIO!!!! This is really the plan for this mod, to take place of the logo with something like that. I plan on just using the wallpaper for everyday use and making a short video to play on the screen when I'm showing it off.

Yes, you sould be able to just tap into the 12v line. The monitor only pulls 1.3a, so it sould not draw excess current away from the mb. So should put a 1.5a fuse in line not the 5a.

Are there RCA modulators that feature DVI instead of S-Video?
All and all you will be limited to the s-video quality you have now. If you use an rf modulator with dvi input, the output will still be the same as s-video directly in.
