Rate my HTPC build!

Thread Starter
Keep in mind, no overclocking and no gaming...except maybe whenever company comes over...and extremely budget...only thing I want to have is PCI-e and RAID,no reason to spend where it's not needed.

Anyways, on to the componants.

Case - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16811204007

mobo - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813153060

PSU - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16817174027

CPU - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819116040
(^^ interested in how this little guy runs ^^)

ram - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820145526

HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136073

Total Cost (without video) = $316

As soon as I get my G80, it'll be using this 7300LE I'm using, and then the 8400GT when it's finally released will go into the HTPC.

Any suggestions?

How's that PSU going to fit in that case

And are you sure about that single core CPU, even though it's Core technology? Maybe an X2 3600+ based rig is a better idea.

Otherwise, no obvious flaws.

You could get a Seagate Perp 320GB for $79.99, and an E2140 for $84.
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16822148140
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819116037

With those replacements... the total will be $316.95

or:

Get the Seagate 320GB and 2GB Corsair DDR2 675 RAM for $69.99
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820145015

In that case, the total will be $315.95

I checked the website of that case, and it states it supports full ATX PSUs. So you should be fine

you might want to consider the 2400/2600 instead of the 8400 due to the HDMI support.
