e6600 OC Results and Questions - Page 2

Another side note:

Sparkison was talking about trying to run 1T. My board will NOT run at a 1:1 ratio with 1T. You can see my results in my other thread about the P35 and ram timings in the motherboard threads.

Yeah, I did folding for a while.

Maybe I should get back on the wagon for a good cause sake. On one hand however, I never read up on any real outcomes from using the network of people. Is the data trully helping? I am sure I will get a response on this one.

I know you were speaking of a folding team but it would be fun to join a OC team (really so I could leech all of the possible knowledge I could from those who know...). I only see teams that are uber-serious - they wouldn't have time for me.

By registering on this forum you have joined an enormous OC team.

enormous? maybe not, but definitely cool.

I fold for 37726 outside of the "Folding Teams" they have here.

Good morning all - I managed to get a little bit of time between 1am and 2:30am to try a few most versions of my OC e6600. Here is a batch of screenshots. Let me know if you see anything that look perculiar or something that may get a bit more speed.

At this point it's pretty stable.... I may need to knock is down -5 on the FSB and see what happens. I don't think orthos will run 247 on this speed.

Comments?

PS - vDroop was the issue on the CPU-z readings. Thanks

Try Enabling your CPU voltage damper. I get ZERO vdroop with this enabled on my board.

I would disable the "Execute Disable Bit". Here is a short description: http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/E/Exec...sable_Bit.html
Having this enabled could also hinder overclocking. You might also check out this thread by eva2000: http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...ed-500fsb.html

Agreed I let you know in the other post to disable them all It can make your overclocking trials much smoother.

Cool - Will disable those.

Here is a general question : What do I gain by dropping the multi and upping the FSB. For example, eva2000 has set multi to x7..

Currently I am at 9 x 370 +/- = 3.33

What do I get for going 7 x 475 = 3.33?

More stability? More Heat? It just depends. I am missig the understanding of multipliers.

Another general question - I see people have crazy OC. I see their CPU-z what is there to verify they are actually running stable? I can get this chip up to 3.6-3.7 long enough to get CPU-z screenshots...but about 2 seconds later BSOD!
