So, my best bet may just be to sacrifice the slots (honestly wasn't going to use them anyway) and open the kinks with some zip ties.

You could probably loosen up some tension by moving the pump into the lower compartment. Although, that could limit some room.

I think I'll stick with the current setup and try the zip ties. I did a test run of 2-3 ties spaced out to open flow, and it worked pretty satisfactory. If I alternate a few red and orange UV reactive ties on each line, I think it may give it a cool look too.

If those work, it could work out to a pretty kick-ass look for that bit of visible tubing right there!

I've decided on what fans to buy. After reading quite a few reviews, I'm going with the Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F. Good balance of airflow, noise and great cooling results. They also have a function that stops the motor if the fan gets blocked, then restarts seconds after blockage is cleared.

CHAPTER II

After a long hiatus on the project, rethinking a lot of design flaws and waiting for numerous part shipments, work on Babalon resumes..

(7/18/07)

When I previously drilled the template for my radiator mounts, I forgot a hole for fan cords to enter. I remedied this, drilling it behind where on of the spacers will go.

Notched these suckers out to help conceal SATA and other cords, when they go down into the bottom compartments.

Prepping the radiator shell for painting. Don't want to add any more coats to the fins and reduce cooling efficiency.

A nicely painted rad and repainted case.

(7/20/07)

During my hiatus, I had to strongly rethink my previous plans for the loop. The two prominent changes were swapping from 1/2 Tygon tubing to 7/16 Masterkleer (better routing & less kinks) and trading the reservoir for DD fill and drain ports.

Disassembling my D-TEK FuZion and giving it a quick clean before leak testing.

Stage I filling and leak testing: Great success!

(8/5/07)

One of my smaller yet prouder mods. These Nexus fan controllers come factory with blue LEDs, which did not fit my color scheme for the case's front panel. I clipped them close to the board base and soldered in white LEDs. The second pic is of the panel I'm working on for it.

Wiring and sleeving my Bulqin power switch (w/ white illuminted ring), Scythe S-FLEX fan(s) and D5 Laing.

Installation of fans, fan filters and rubber grommets for vibration dampening.

A quick test of UV dye mixture. Very sexy, I must say.

Finishing up the build day with the beginning of my cable management. Hot glue does wonders, let me tell you!
