Agreed it being a little high. Right now I'm quite convinced the primary culprit are my fans. So much air is leaking out the gaps between them as they are mounted on the rad, it's ridiculous. I'll try shrouds tonight. Cull out that issue and work from there.

Thank you. I like the color, but it looks like I need moar UV lights. Gonna buy some LED strips.

EDIT: Thinking back now, I think I might have put too much antifreeze in the loop, which would definitely up temps a bit. When I get home from work I'm going to do a partial drain and dilute w/ more distilled.

If any seasoned WC'ers have any advice on how to drop the temps a bit in this build, please by all means lend me your criticism.

What is the second T under the pump outlet for? The first thing I do if my temp's aren't what I would like is to re-seat the CPU block...While its off straight-edge the base of the Fuzion and the top of your IHS and make sure they are flat and making good contact...When you pull them apart there should be a nice light even coat of TIM on it, if you have a patch of it that is thicker then the rest you will know its not flat...Do you have a decent cfm fan s on your rad? That will affect performance also....

The upper T and (supposed) fillport were a design fluke. I was going to have both a fill and drain, but then gravity jumped up and round house kicked me in the face. Now it serves no purpose, but I am loathe to remove it because it would require lots of disassembly of just about everything.

CPU block, I've been thinking this. When seating this one, for the first time I tried the "rice grain" method instead of spreading it. I also may not have tightened the retaining springs down as much as I could, as I am a little bit chicken:turd: with this being the first waterblock I've fitted. I'll pull it off this afternoon and take a looksy.

The fans are Scythe S-FLEX, F models. 63.7 CFM rating, I believe.

Like a previously stated, I think a lot of their airflow is leaking out the gaps between them, on the top of the radiator. They also are in a push config, maybe I should try pull?

Yeah take it apart and check it..You have to tighten the block down pretty snug to..

Just flip the fans around and see if it helps..Those cheap silicone fan silencers make pretty good gaskets to seal with...Look at SVC they have cheap ones....

I'd yank that other T out sometime so it wont restrict the flow, but its nothing major that you need to do right away....

If none of that helps yell at me again...

Alright. After I got home last night, I started fiddling around. It looks like the AS5 cured a little more, so these were my temps to start out:

Idle: 37C
Load: 45C

Started by switching fans to a pull config:

Idle: 36C
Load: 44C

Pull config + shrouds and gaskets:

Idle: 35.5C
Load: 43C

So far some progress!

Last night I diluted my coolant mixture, which I believe had way too much antifreeze in it. Almost all the air was purged out this morning but I left it running while I'm at work today, just to make sure I have no bubbles at all. When I get home, I'll test temps with the new mixture.

After that, I will then reseat the FuZion and see if that if that gains me some more performance.

Tragedy strikes! shocker.. shocker..

First, I will not again go out on a limb and trade my standard "spread" technique for the "rice grain" one when applying AS5.

When reseating my FuZion, I punked my LanParty and I believe I broke a solder under the CPU bed. YAYZORZ!

I just overnighted a replacement DFI (on credit, none-the-less ) along with a 3600+ Brisbane, because in my angst and fury I DROPPED my 5200+. If the 5200+ still works I'll use the Bris for a budget build.

I gotta get this freaking thing finished by Friday when I buy Bioshock.

GAHHAHDSFHFS!! I wanna scream. I'm so angry at myself.

man ouch i feel your pain. the 5200 should still work unless one of the pins are now "missing" and if its bent u can always bend back 2 place but be careful cuz they do break off easily when bent. and supposibly bioshock is REALLY good a friend downloaded the demo and says its amazing. the in game rendering is awesome, on his 7900 on mid settings. and atm im downloading the demo and cant wait to try out.

Trying to turn the negative into (somewhat) of a positive, while I wait for my replacement mobo to arrive on Thursday, I'm taking the time to remove the pointless top T and address a small weeping leak in one of my radiator fittings.

Sorry for the blurriness.

If I have time I think I may lap my FuZion and 5200's IHS, too.
