Easy question
Don't you realize that if that were the reason viruses are written for Windows the vast majority of viruses would be for linux? Most of the web runs on linux and web servers are a much juicier target. Server malware hugely favors windows server OS's even though they have a small market share because it's easier to exploit

Parallels stomps Bootcamp, IMO. Being able to run Windows within OS X at full-speed is definitely a plus, at least in my book. As soon as my Serial'd copy gets here, I'll be happily NEVER BOOTING into Windows, again.

Keeping to one OS on boot saves me time shifting Bios options. Oi.

Personally, I don't like apple's Operating system because you can't choose what to put it on. They will let you install windows on their system, even encourage you to run windows programs through OSX, but won't allow OSX/leopard to be installed on non mac computers?

Seems kinda hypocritical to me

FIRST LOOK or LOOK (can't remember what it's called) alone is worth the migration to Apple OS. Being able to preview files before you open them in such a seamless manner? That's priceless. As the average user's file-size increases, ingests more data, etc... having something like that to merely run through a file is more than useful.

Also, Vista is already a wanna-be OS X. If you've ever used FINDER, it's what Vista WANTS to have. Spotlight owns any search engine in Vista's Operating System. It's faster than Vista's search, it allows you more options. It's just all around better.

I'm not even talking about web security, either. I don't care about viruses and it's not a selling point for me. Accessibility, resource management, etc are.
Windows has always had a search function, but in Vista they just moved it to a different place in the start menu.. And I've used finder, and compared to XP's search feature, it sucked because I couldn't pick the file type, folder to look in, etc.

I don't exactly hate apple, it's just when people say their OS is better than Windows. No options, no customizability. Sure, it'd be great for the average joe who doesn't know what a processor is and calls the graphics card a display slot. But for the more-than-average person a mac would be a headache because of so little software support and so little hardware support.

I extensively use them at school since they're the only computers the school has.

I don't own one, I have used one, but I have yet to see a reason to get one. If Steven Jobs thinks I need a Mac, then he should try harder than bashing PC's to sell me one.

If Leopard could be installed on any computer, Apple loses hardware sales immediately. There's no benefit in Apple allowing their OS to be installed on other hardware. However, there IS a benefit to marketing their hardware as a Dual Boot system. Those who want Windows can have Windows, and the Apple Hardware. To those people, it really is the best of both worlds. Won't be that way with people here, but the "average joe" who can spend the money will love it.

You can pick the folder to look in, hard drive, right down to the container package. If you've used Spotlight, it gets even more detailed and it's lightning fast.

Hardware support, for the enthusiast, is the major drawback to OS X or Apple Hardware. Don't get me wrong, I'm thoroughly pissed that I couldn't invest money that I HAVE into an 8800. Up until now, since OS X will now run G80 hardware, that's the one thing I hated about Apple. They're coming around, especially NOW that they've bandied the entire Dual Booting thing.

The hardware, as well, is not overpriced for what it is. A lot of the stuff in Mac Pro is straight from manufacturer, not third party manufacturers. My prime example is the expensive-as-hell ATI X1900 card. S'not Sapphire, or any other brand; it's actually ATI.

Another good point, the only thing mac commercials do is bash PC's on how they're full of viruses. They never talk about anything else except how simple and easy to use they are.

I have two Macs (a Powerbook and iBook) plus two homebuilt PC's (one AMD and one Intel). The PC's suck balls. My first build required installing the OS numerous times (has anyone installed Windows before - long and arduous) before realizing that the memory was giving my fits. Had to eat the cost of the memory, and bought new memory (very expensive at the time) that eventually worked. Still had to reinstall the OS a couple of times because of malware and the fact windows just gets cludgey after numerous app installs and removals - performance degrades significantly with Windows. Blue screen of deaths on numerous occasions - from what I gather it's the stupid sound chip on the mobo.

New system - fairly stable. Though I had a BSOD last night by simply unpluging a USB HD. PC's suck. You guys know this. The system keeps forgetting the driver I installed for my scanner, and on and on.... I have a dual core Intel, and the system is dog slow. On startup - slow, On shut down - slow. Freakin system sometimes won't even shutdown. Hit Start\\Shut Down and it thinks, and thinks, oh wait a dialog box -> App so and so is shuting down, wait and wait, App so and so failed to shut down, End task now? Well of course end it!!!!!!! I said shutdown you idiot. Wait and wait, App So and So is shutting odwn, wait and wait, App so and so failed to shutdown, end task? What!!!!! This sucks!!!!!! I've have shutdown numerous times, and walked away from my system to only find it running in the morning, App so and so failed to shutdown, End Task??? Sometimes Apps just freeze, normally Explorer. I say end task, and my desktop disappears. Just disappears. Nothing!!!!! Sure Control-Alt-Delte brings up Task Manager - I try to run a task and type explorer. Nothing. I then try to Turn Off system, and wait and wait and wait - F-this I push the Power button for a couple of seconds and hard shutdown the computer with a thunk. Nice!!!!

Yes, I use a PC at home and work. I'm an engineer, so most engineering software runs on windows only. Been aching for a new PowerMac running 8 cores, but yes they do cost a lot of money, but no more than a comparable Dell. I built a dual core system for a lot less than a Powermac (but still in the low $1,000's - and it still required to build it - which is no dream). Apple does not beat low cost foreign computers, or home built computers. They compete with HP and Dell, and on the high end they are competitive.

I think it's funny when PC Fanboys scream about Mac's costing more money and that they don't run PC games, and then they end up spending $4,000+ to get the fastest water cooled video card and system, 10 fans, a tripped out highend computer case with neon throughout. Comical!!! Dudes, freakin get a XBox 360 for $400. Better games, and faster to boot. Macs are meant to get real work done!
