Apple announces new leopard prices!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Page 6

Zomg, I'm gonna finish with this thread for now and go play Battlefield 2. Or maybe 2142. Or maybe Counter Strike Source. Or maybe Live for Speed. Oh, I can't decide, there are too many options. Oh wait, I'm sorry, macs only have a choice of 3 badly ported games for you to play.

Look, if you've had very bad problems with windows, it's your fault. As I said before, I have 5 computers running windows and I've only had a few BSOD's on one of them which was windows 98. All of my 4 XP computers have never BSOD'ed on me, never gotten infected, and never froze or didn't shut down in the 6 years that I have had them.

Sad to know that Overclock.net makes up like one percent of the computing population; I wouldn't target you guys either. There's no benefit.

They're marketing it right, or they wouldn't be in business.

Apple sells HW with an OS.

Is that EVER true. Uhm, last time I checked? I could buy ONE copy of OS X and share it with anyone I wanted. Because, three's no SERIAL. You could register a downloaded version and not have to worry about getting in trouble.

Leopard? The same. When my supervisor buys it on release date, bet I'll have it because there's NO SERIAL OR LICENSING.

how often do you give your parents information on what to buy for their computers?

If they could convince us (the computer savy) people, then we it would trickle down and it would be common to have it.

Sorry, I make money with my rig. Computer games come last. If I want to play CS:S, I'll boot into Windows and yet... not even that, thanks to Parallels.

And I haven't had a virus in Windows in six or seven years. Like I said, Viruses have nothing to do with selling, to me. In a few years, the idea of a Virus will be a last-grasp at selling something to a customer, IMO.

I don't exactly hate apple, it's just when people say their OS is better than Windows. No options, no customizability. Sure, it'd be great for the average joe who doesn't know what a processor is and calls the graphics card a display slot. But for the more-than-average person a mac would be a headache because of so little software support and so little hardware support.
Oh, speaking of search...my first home built PC can't even search naymore. Nothing comes up. No results. Man, you guys keep reminding me why I hate my PC's ssoooooooo mch.

Oh, and my stupid Windows for Media won't come up anymore!!!! Nothing!!!1 I had to install another software to watch movies....arrrrgrgrgghrhhhhhhhhh I HATE MY PC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and one time when ever I right clicked on my CDROM with a movie in it to get propoerties my explorer would crasjh. No desktop. Nothing........

Oh, and another time whenever I opened a specific folder my explorer would crash....no desktop....nothing. It turned out that I had to update my software to recognize the files, but still why crash....UURGRGRGHHHHH!!!!!

Solutions to the above problema - reformat HD - reinstall Win Xp - Get activation issues - call Microdud - Spew out a 32 number code - read back a 32 number code - type in 32 number code....a little bit later (months) activation issues again...call Microdud - Spew out a 32 number code - read back a 32 number code - type in 32 number code....

OSX - one OS - one price - no activation - priceless

Dude, truth hurts - your choice of PC sucks - again the PC doesn't suck - Microdud sucks.

The commercials are based upon truths. It hurts. PC's as are Macs are relgious experiences. It hurts, and one normally gets angry and defensive when one's religion is questioned.

I still say that for them to sell me on Leopard, I need to have more control over my hardware. Give me that and I'll buy it and use it. Till then, I'm not buying a mac.

I make money with my rig too. I'm a web designer. I use Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc. These programs start up in a few seconds on my Pentium 4. So why should I get a mac? What is so much better about programming on a mac?

Not often. And, still, this forum has a minor influence on who goes out and buys a Mac versus who goes out and buys Windows Hardware.

They're not going to convince most of you, though, because the majority of this forum would be:

A) Below the age of 18, no jobs, little money.

B) All about video games.

So, until OS X/ Leopard sees a host of games that perform similar or better, I can't see any way to actually convince any of you. =P And, I'm not trying to, either. I'd just like the misinformation to seep into cracks and vanish, because, it does no one any good to be misinformed about great products.

Get some games for it (which it sounds like they're doing) and open the OS up to non mac machines and then if they can keep the price at $130, i'd try it! and others would also. Then they are in the running for the superior OS.
In number 1, want do you mean by "new"?

A Mac isn't ment to play games really though, it aims at professionals or people that just have the money. By default, you cannot argue that Mac's come with some nice applications compared to Windows.
