2) they can't market to us because they can't. You just stated that

so that leaves them with a inferior product because they can't market it right.

Get some games for it (which it sounds like they're doing) and open the OS up to non mac machines and then if they can keep the price at $130, i'd try it! and others would also. Then they are in the running for the superior OS.

Did you see EA is coming back to the Mac. So is ID software. Now let's see if we can get Bungie back on the Mac with Halo 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then you shouldn't be concerned about video games over accessibility and functionality. Sounds like the exact opposite.

Even still, running with a P4 in this day and age, overclocked or not, is only holding you back from doing more faster. It's not even a question of what operating system, at this stage: it's more like why haven't you upgraded so you can make MORE money?

Being able to do more faster equals more clients equals more money.

And, in all honesty, I'm sure that Dreamweaver CS3 runs just as fast in Windows than OS X. I have it installed in Windows, but haven't bothered to even tried it. I know that when I'm running PS CS3, Dreamweaver CS3, Cinema 4D R10, Final Cut Pro 2, Motion 3, iChat, etc, etc. ( run like 20 programs at once) I've got no issue with ANY of them. That's enough to keep me in OS X versus my experience with just running Flash and Dreamweaver in Windows.

Crash city.

Look, if you've had very bad problems with windows, it's your fault. As I said before, I have 5 computers running windows and I've only had a few BSOD's on one of them which was windows 98. All of my 4 XP computers have never BSOD'ed on me, never gotten infected, and never froze or didn't shut down in the 6 years that I have had them.
Dude, you are in luck:

And Madden and Tiger Woods 2008.

The winds are a shifting - get on board now!!!

Is that EVER true. Uhm, last time I checked? I could buy ONE copy of OS X and share it with anyone I wanted. Because, three's no SERIAL. You could register a downloaded version and not have to worry about getting in trouble.

Leopard? The same. When my supervisor buys it on release date, bet I'll have it because there's NO SERIAL OR LICENSING.

Exactly. Who in their right mind would want to build their own system. Incompatibilities, broken knuckles, failed components, 18 different vendors, 18 different warranty issues, etc....

And I haven't had a virus in Windows in six or seven years. Like I said, Viruses have nothing to do with selling, to me. In a few years, the idea of a Virus will be a last-grasp at selling something to a customer, IMO.
Guys, viruses are a no show. It's the Malware that gets you. And it's bad. Yes it doesn't exist on the Mac because I believe you have to right specifically to attack windows.

I'm 15, I play games too. And I know my computer is old, I'm building a new one after summer, but it doesn't slow me down at all. I don't web design 24/7. When I do, it takes a few seconds for each app to open, and after that there is no speed to worry about. Opening files from within the app is instant, typing is instant (while on the widescreen macs at school that run PowerPC G5's or whatever, there is lag while I'm actually typing).

I often have Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Firefox, IE7, Cool Edit Pro, plus all my background apps such as messengers running, and once I've opened them all it doesn't lag when switching from app to app, and it certainly doesn't crash or conflict.

Then tap F9 and be able to easily flick through them all, just by clicking on them...much better than this vista flicky thing or Alt Tab

They're not going to convince most of you, though, because the majority of this forum would be:

A) Below the age of 18, no jobs, little money.

B) All about video games.

So, until OS X/ Leopard sees a host of games that perform similar or better, I can't see any way to actually convince any of you. =P And, I'm not trying to, either. I'd just like the misinformation to seep into cracks and vanish, because, it does no one any good to be misinformed about great products.

Audi, like you said, ther's no convincing anyone on this board. And that is fine. It's fun and somewhat healthy to have these discussions (boarding on the hilarious at itmes).

I've always said a computer is a tool. Use the best tool for your task. If it's games go buy a XBox 360 for $400!!!!! Better graphics, better games. Computers should be used to get real work done! Shame on everyone

I'm not talking about just having the programs opened. I'm talking about USING them. I scroll four gigabyte image files in Photoshop, deal with 1080p Hi-def files in Final Cut Pro, all while rendering Quicktime VR's in Cinema4D. This is all SIMULTANEOUSLY, and it's done on the Dual G5 I'm sitting at now.

I can do more at home, thanks to the Quad and the Intel architecture.

I will admit to G5's being VERY slow in web browsing. Other G5 users will detest this myth, but it's true. HOwever, my computer at home blazes through everything in OS X.

I'm not trying to convince you, there's no need to. And, I know I can't do much about people misinforming others about hardware that they have little-to-no experience with, but at least try, man. There was a time when Apple Hardware was an "ehhhh" and ONLY for creative professionals.

That time is over.

I find the taskbar a hell of a lot better than F9 on macs, whatever it's called.
