And what do you know, they stole Vista's transparency too.

Then why say that if you know vista isn't revolutionary?

I wasn't even talking about vista, I was talking about Windows. Except for the transparency part.

This is an endless argument, so I'm done with it.

FIRST LOOK or LOOK (can't remember what it's called) alone is worth the migration to Apple OS. Being able to preview files before you open them in such a seamless manner? That's priceless. As the average user's file-size increases, ingests more data, etc... having something like that to merely run through a file is more than useful.

Also, Vista is already a wanna-be OS X. If you've ever used FINDER, it's what Vista WANTS to have. Spotlight owns any search engine in Vista's Operating System. It's faster than Vista's search, it allows you more options. It's just all around better.

I'm not even talking about web security, either. I don't care about viruses and it's not a selling point for me. Accessibility, resource management, etc are.
I never loose my files, so I don't search very often but with vista's indexing it is very fast, IE I type it in the start menu and guess what? Before I get done typing it, it's there.

This is how they get you, microsoft makes money for there OS. Not their hardware.

8800's are great, might want to wait for the 8900's if it supports them

You'd be right if ATi did not get their ATi brand cards from Sapphire

Had to eat the cost of the memory, and bought new memory (very expensive at the time) that eventually worked. Still had to reinstall the OS a couple of times because of malware and the fact windows just gets cludgey after numerous app installs and removals - performance degrades significantly with Windows. Blue screen of deaths on numerous occasions - from what I gather it's the stupid sound chip on the mobo.
here's the deal, you get what you pay for. I admit, there are some really cheap brands for PC and none for apple as they make all their own hardware, tad expensive but the quality is better then cheaper PC hardware.

Performance degrades? What? Ever defragmented? It's what mac does automatically. Get O&O and it'll defrag files as they are used and indexed.

If you get a good antivirus you would not get any virus's. I like nod32 myself, it even tells me when I start to download a virus.

Freakin system sometimes won't even shutdown. Hit Start\\Shut Down and it thinks, and thinks, oh wait a dialog box -> App so and so is shuting down, wait and wait, App so and so failed to shut down, End task now? Well of course end it!!!!!!! I said shutdown you idiot. Wait and wait, App So and So is shutting odwn, wait and wait, App so and so failed to shutdown, end task? What!!!!! This sucks!!!!!! I've have shutdown numerous times, and walked away from my system to only find it running in the morning, App so and so failed to shutdown, End Task??? Sometimes Apps just freeze, normally Explorer. I say end task, and my desktop disappears. Just disappears. Nothing!!!!! Sure Control-Alt-Delte brings up Task Manager - I try to run a task and type explorer. Nothing. I then try to Turn Off system, and wait and wait and wait - F-this I push the Power button for a couple of seconds and hard shutdown the computer with a thunk. Nice!!!!
You are just dumb. If you don't have a IQ of at least 30, please stick to Mac's. They are just easier for people like you to use.

I built a dual core system for a lot less than a Powermac (but still in the low $1,000's - and it still required to build it - which is no dream). Apple does not beat low cost foreign computers, or home built computers. They compete with HP and Dell, and on the high end they are competitive.
They're going to have a 8 core AMD setup soon. In fact, I have a 32 CPU server in the closet. Servers have lot's of CPU's, if you compare server hardware to desktop hardware of course the Server is going to have better-faster stuff.

HP and Dell also do NOT compete with Dell.

Comical!!! Dudes, freakin get a XBox 360 for $400. Better games, and faster to boot. Macs are meant to get real work done!
Uhh, yeah. I can build a gaming PC for less then $600 that'll run most games on High settings. The people who buy $4k computers are not called "enthusiasts" for nothing...

Xbox 360's are great, I can use MCE to do almost anything with it also.

It's like I said, you get what you pay for.

You can literally upgrade every time a revision comes out if you stick your Mac on Ebay or Craigslist. Someone's guaranteed to buy it JUST to save two hundred bucks.
That's why I can't afford a G5, they just can't let it go for less then they paid for it. It's quite irritating when you pay as much for a old G4 as a Core 2 Duo Dell.

This also makes hardware cheaper. If it sucks, buy new stuff. With Mac you might as well buy a new one when you want a new OS.

This make's it harder to steal, as microsoft does not manufacture hardware they can't make up the lost money for stolen operating systems. Unlike Mac.

Good video hardware vendors make performance video cards with DirectX in mind. Not so much OpenGL anymore. This is the only bad thing with macs, no DX9 or DX10.

And Bungie is OWNED by microsoft ( not in a theoretical sense-but in a real world sense)

Microsoft bought them.

Oh, hi, I'm using a 1gb right now.

leave boris4ka in peace, he is just trying to get the point across mac has bad advertising and the users just need to get it in their head that their hardware and os are not superior in every way.

All this mac vs PC **** is retarded, they both have there up's and downs. I just find PC's cheaper/easer/funner/mainstream.

And watch, I'm going to get told my hardware and operating system are bad and I'm brainwashed for using them.

i'm not saying the operating system is bad (or hardware), only that Apple could make just as much money opening up to install on any computer. If they feel their product is fool proof, then give everyone a chance to show how much of a fool they are.

Sorry, but he wasn't informing: he was bashing. And, seemed to me, hadn't a single bit of knowledge on Apple Hardware or the operating system.

The day people educate themselves on more than one platform AND stop playing the brand loyalty card is the day that all the brand wars go away.

I'm brand agnostic. However, it's improper to misinform people because "I don't like it" or "I can't afford it".
