Are my temps too high on my E6600? (re: my watercooling setup)

Thread Starter
Here is my system:

ASUS P5B-Deluxe
E6600 CPU
G.SKILL HZ DDR2-800 2GB RAM (Rated 4-4-4-12)
8800 GTX

Here is my water-cooling setup:

DD TDX Waterblock
Black Ice Pro II Radiator
D5 Pump

I've overclocked the FSB to 333 MHz, but everything else is at default voltages and default settings.

In my BIOS it says my CPU is 35.5 C degrees. (eg. idle)

I've installed the Intel Thermal Analysis Tool (TAT) and my Windows XP idle temperature seems to be 42.0 C, but I forget and could be wrong.

However, if I use the TAT tool to set both of my cores to 100% workload, it says each core is at 57.0 C degrees.

Is this normal?

Here are pictures of my OLD watercooling setup: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jklimek...7600092358720/

The case is the same and watercooling layout is the same. I've just changed the motherboard and CPU.

I would say those temps are normal may be a bit high. its probally do to your radiator being inside your case.

Not too far off assuming you're ambient is lower 20s, and remember TAT 100% load is way more load than orthos.

Using tat for coretemps I see:
Orthos blend I only see around 5C delta between idle and load.
Orthos small ftt I see 7C
TAT 100% load I see about 10-12C

In real world gaming I've never even seen anything surpass orthos blend, that's why I don't consider TAT 100% a good loading benchmark. I do use it to burn in the thermalpaste for about an hour after a remount though.

Anyway, that's not too far off what I had until I started a bunch of tweaking here and there which has trimmed off about 6C so far.

you might need to reseat your blocks, I have had a temperature issue on my e6600 and wc setup. I am going to lap it ASAP. However, an e6600 should be cool (cooler than my pentium d at least)
