I would read up on that thing if you can find it. I guess I would trust speedfan but thats just me. I allways use speed fan because it shows negative numbers while coretemp and tat both stop at 4c.

Go with the higher one until you find out for sure (if thats possible) that way you will stay below any threshold of pain levels.

argh!
coretemp 94 is saying that i have a c2d e4300 (allendale) and 35c for both cores..

while coretemp 95 is saying that i have a c2d e4300 (conroe-2m) and 50c for both cores
I bought a 2mb e4300 for sure...

i read that conroes are 4mb cache while allendale is 2mb ***?

i'm having trouble with my temps too, i have 3 different programs running at the same time showing different temps

Well, after extensive research, I am pretty sure that I need to pay attention to SpeedFan. The temps for each core are measured as Delta to T-Junction, and with certain steppings CoreTemp improperly sets the TJunction to 100C, as opposed to 85C. I lapped my heatsink and IHS and am looking at a load temp of about 50-52C.
