What? there is no way that there are 6 billion computers on Earth, that's as many computers as there are humans, and a third of those don't have a phone at home.
One billion is a lot.

I know theres ALOT of computers kicking round the world, heres a question for ya..

HOW MANY KEYBOARDS ARE THERE IN THE WORLD?

EVERY warehouse I have ever worked in has some where in a corner a box full of keyboards.. old junk ones..
behind me now there are 4 large boxes with about 25 in each, there are 200 foreign NEW keyboards elsewhere here! french, russian, netherlands alsorts.
we have like 800 NEW UK keyboards
a place I worked at for a year, had 1000`s of old keyboards! every brand you can think of and plenty of brands that died out years ago..

theres loads of companys like logitech, cherry ect that make keyboards but not computers!

there must be EASILY 10 times as many keyboards as there are computers in the world!!!!!

Notice the article says IN USE which doesn't count all the old ones that are collecting dust or whatever, at least thats how I look at it. The 6.6B that SistemId says could be all that were ever made.

whats your point? The article is drawing a parallel with the number of PCs "in use" with the growth rate of these countries. Talking about how many unused keyboards there are in the world is about as meaningful as wondering how many blades of grass are in your back garden.

But what resources were used to grow those blades of grass in ya back garden? rain and sunshine?
not many keyboards or computers are made from that!

AAAA more computer is fine but if you ask me there are way to many people in the world as it is and we are killing it,I dont think that we should just give poor people things like they are doing with that 100$ laptop thing, they realy need to lear how to get it for them selves, there are lots of people that started out with nothing and turn out to be great people that worked hare for what they have/had.Only the strong servive?nope not any more, and now that there are computers and all kinds of things in the world to make life easy,I like to go camping and live in the great outdoors (when it get time) but realy not it sould hart less or rood we need to ether find a better way to live so that all of us can fit on this planet, find a new planet,or some people need to "move" on to the next life.IMO.

Also i do not think that killing people is right and that is not what i am saying I just think that life should not be as easy at it is compared to what it used to be.not saying that it is all that easy now.BUT
