That's what ATI fans have been saying since it was released, I've yet to see it. *shrug*

I just think the HD2900XT is not a good buying decision when there is a card that performs better most of the time, costs less, is easier to cool, and costs less to operate.

Thread Starter
I would never buy a 8800Ultra, what a waist of money.
Its simply a 8800GTX overclocked...

Right now im leaning towards the 2900, even though im a nvidia fan boy.

Actually, I'm a Nvidia fan....I wanted to get a 8800, but chose this card because of teh price/performance. And you know already my opinion.

But the price/performance is one of the HD2900XT's cons... it costs more and doesn't perform as well. I guess I don't understand your reasoning. I seriously doubt that "maturing drivers" is gonna make up the difference. Plus, they've had 7 months to develop good drivers for the card... I personally think that it's performing as well as it's going to. Maybe the 1 GB version will prove to be a better card.

If you're going with the 2900xt get the one with GDDR4 with 1gb mem. That one is about 100-150 3dmark06 points away from the 8800gtx and it's cheaper than the gtx too.

Yeah, I was just reading that. Figures that I'd be proven wrong less than 8 hours after I said something.
