ATItool .26 crashes on Stress and 8800GTX overclock?

Thread Starter
I'm trying to determine if this is an ATItool bug or a result of a bad overclock.

I have an EVGA 8800GTX (water cooled -- load 53C max) that I'm clocking at 650/1000 (648 because of clock bands). I'm not seeing any artifacts unless I push the card up to 662 (the next band for the GPU and shader) or I push the memory pass 1100.

I'm trying to stress test the entire system and water cooler, running TAT w/ Orthos on CPU max stress. For some reason though after about 5 minutes ATItool throws and exception and pops up the bug-window and crashes -- The rest of the system is stable (or so I'm assuming), no errors in Orthos, etc.... Not sure if it's ATItool or the 8800GTX overclock... any thoughts? No errors are indicated prior to the ATItool crash. Wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior.

does this only happen after you overclocked the card or did it happen before when the gfx card was at stock settings?

I can't remember if they were under the same exact conditions. I'll have to try again tonight and see.

Basically the FIRST thing to do with ANY indication of instability is to prove it's not the overclock by returning to stock and retrying (write down your settings.)
