Hey Everyone,

I just built a new system and being somewhat of an OC novice and an old man I was hoping that you guys could give me some advice.

Here's my system and specs (below).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Your temps are too high. You can't go over 60 degrees Celsius. You either need a better cooler for your CPU or back off the O.C. a bit. Here are links to 2 good coolers for that chip:

Best air cooler you can get imo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835154001

A good one and a little cheaper. But still top 10:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118003

Good luck!

Also loosen memory timings and if your temps are under 60 bump up the vcore a little at a time. KEEP AM EYE ON YOUR TEMPS!

Try changing your command rate from 2T to 1T.

Thanks - I'll drop my speed.
If I understand you right, are you saying at full-load I shouldn't hit over 60c?

Here was my latest test:

- CPU: 1600 @ 1.385
- MEM: 800 @ 2.0

TEMPS CORE #1/#2 (using Everest):
- Idle: 34/37c
- Load: 71/74c (Orthos Small FFTs @ 16 minutes)
- Load: 60/64c (Orthos Blend @ 16 minutes)

That is correct. At load you should be under 60 degrees celsius.

Hey guys,

Thank you for your help.

Today I replaced that Thermaltake Silent 775D heatsink with an Arctic Freezer Pro 7 and what a big difference it made! My CPU dropped somewhere between 10-20 degrees!
It was pretty easy to install, but I put it in backwards at first and had to redo it. It was a tight fit in my Antec 900 case, but it wasn't too bad.

Now I'm wondering if I should push it some more Seriously, if you guys think I can/should let me know or if I should do anything different.

Thank you again for everyone who gave me great advice.

Here are my stats (two different tests) below:
