Requesting advice for which upgrade to do first Ram or Graphic Card

Thread Starter
I was going to uprade either my ram or my graphics card. Unfortunately I can only afford to do one or the other. I could upgrade my evga 8800 gts 320mb superclocked for evga 8800 gts 640mb superclocked. Or upgrade my ram from 2gb OCZ pc ddr2 6400 (800) vista ready to 2gb OCZ pc ddr2 8500 (1066) nvidia sli ready. Which upgrade do you think would show me the most noticable difference, the ram upgrade or the graphic card upgrade? All answers appreciated.

If you aren't going SLI no point really getting the RAM. And if you game at low res. (1280x1024 or lower) you'de be better off sticking with the 320. But if you game at high res. get the 640 MB and sell the 320.

sli ready=scam as all ram will work with sli as graphics cards have nothing to do with ram. like chris said theres no point really upgrading the 8800 unless you are running some huge res. looking at your system i wiould get a x-fi or maybe some sata hard drives and st them up in raid 0

High resolutions? ohh yeah 1600 x 1200 or higher with 16x QA antialising. My 800 ram overclocks well im getting 3.5 ghz on air. It seems the the graphic card would be the most noticable difference then. I saw the 640mb gts was 64gb per sec and the 320mb is 68gbs per sec. Is that really possible? Why does the memory bandwidth slow down on a card with more ram?

Ah yes, good choice. I didn't look at his soundcard.

I'm sure gaming experience would improve dramatically with an X-fi compared to onboard sound .
