Well I have to say alot of people would disagree with you lol. I don't know though maybe you are trying to be sarcastic.

But honestly as much as I love F.E.A.R I will agree with you that Doom 1 was better. If simply b/c at that time it was amazing and I devoted more time to Doom 1/2 then I ever have to F.E.A.R

Did you play it on easy? The AI in the game is pretty amazing, how they get smarter and more difficult as you go on. I do not know how you can think it was a bad game. And what about the weapons? The only weapon that makes the game balanced in the player's favor is the shotgun.

it depends how you play it... if you find its too easy - start running up to the enemy and kicking them in the face... that does make things a bit harder

not really sure what you mean by the weapons aren't good... how can pinning people do walls be a bad thing?

i have to say, the first few levels aren't that great, but levels 9 onwards are bloody scary

when doom 1/2 was out, we didn't have nearly as much games as we have right now. when i was young i played wolf3d a hundred times, trying to find every secret. but this was the only game of the genre. then came doom, same thing happen.

back to FEAR, i don't know why you (deeligee) think the weapons suck, because i find them different, while staying classic stuff. you should try multiplayer, the thing is awesome. also you should have tried the game on a harder level, with the lights off.

but, if you don't like it, maybe it's just not your cup of tea

Well thats my point Hermet. It's sad but to me we will NEVER again experience the ultimate fun that games like Doom 1 and Diablo brought us. I mean its impossible. Yeah FEAR is great but as you said there is WAY more competion.

Never again will we experience for a first time the pure joy of FPS madness. Doom is the king baby! Yes there were a small few before but nothing as big, bold and good.

Actually to be honest I just recieved my new 8800 GTX and even with that I was depressed thinking if I could just go back to the 90's from beggining to end with my old PC when we saw Doom, Quake, and Diablo launch I would be so much happier. Gaming to me is great but its depressing seing what it is now as opposed to what it was.

I'd take my 97 rig of a Diamond Monster Voodoo 1 over my new rig anyday lol. In that time period of course!

i found the levels repetitive myself, got sick and tired chasing that guy around and started to get bored. and i think yes the weapons were boring so i just stuck to the uh...sub machine gun or whatever, but the story was outstanding and very sickly twisted in fantastic way!
