E6600 OC In Progress...

Thread Starter
I just started OCing my E6600, and Im at 2.7GHz 1.3V. I seen alot of people with 1:1 FSB-DRAM, but mine is 2:3. So I changed it to 1:1 in the BIOS but I could not start my system up after changing it. Any thoughts?

When I have the Memory thing in the BIOS at Auto my timings are really wierd....

Try setting the memory and FSB to run unlinked and manually setting the memory speed. I also have a lot of problems on my board when running the memory linked, even at a 1:1 divider that is not overclocking the memory at all, so this may solve your problem.

to run 1:1 i believe you ram would have to be at....
1333mhz

3.ghz / 9 = 333.33

333.33 x 4 = 1333.33

I got my e6600 at 3.4ghz but not at 1:1, i unlinked it and manually got my ballistix to go as high as 1100mhz. and timings on auto, if i touch the timing it becomes unstable...

I'm sure that my RAM wont OC that much lol, but with an E6600 at 3GHz what timings and what speed should my memory be at?

-My ram is 800mhz, so I had to set FSB to 1600 to get 1:1, that is 400 x9 for the CPU which matches my ram 800 (400 x 2)
-That made my cpu 3.6 @ 1.4625 vcore
-I set my RAM timings to 5-5-5-15 and everything runs smooth
-What cpu cooler are you using?

That's the effective speed. Divide that by 2, get 667
