Apogee "Bow" Tweak Question

Thread Starter
I have the Apogee installed on a E6300. If I understand the "Bow" Tweak correctly, it is intended to increase compression. Results can vary due to IHS surface flatness variations. I checked contact after installation & removal. The small string of ceramique now covered the entire IHS contact surface. Is it correct to assume that applying the "Bow" Tweak is unlikely to improve performance?

No. All HS and waterblocks are flat enough to form a good contact with thermal interface material. You can't tell contact just by looking at it. You would probably need a microscope and some way of measuring evenness. Bowing proivdes even more pressure around the center of the IHS to improve performance. Bowing should still help.

I should have provided more info. With 444FSBx7, Vcore 1.352(per CPUz), H20-Apex Ultra Kit, Both fans@ 1250 RPM, 50% Load, Core0 is at 42/43C. Since it is unlikely that I can reach more then 490FSB, benefits of "Bowing" would appear to be minimal.
