Asus P5W DH Deluxe

Is this a good mobo?

Im hoping to run a E6600, and will it run "OCZ ATI CrossFire Certified Edition DRAM 2 GB PC2-6400" RAM?

I ask this because my friend has it and it looked like a good board, I will not be overclocking my ram or anything with this board, all I want is a fast boot, and for it to be good for gaming.

Thanks
Daniel

Good board overall. Not the fastest boot on the planet though. Runs c2d's fine. My one complaint is that it is really picky about ram. But although I own one, I am now rebuilding with p5k (great board!). Good luck.

It's a decent mobo. It wont reach the high FSB that you would get with a P5B or something else, but it will run crossfire. Not sure if that particular RAM would work - probably would, don't see a reason why it wouldn't.

However, I DO find that my board does not boot fast at all. I don't know why either, but whatever.

I've had real good luck with this board, but I highly recommend you don't get it now since the X38's are right around the corner. If you already have it it, no worries. It's a solid, good performer - no doubt.

That RAM should work just fine.

Ah...

Just to ask, is there another board, that has a remote? that can turn the pc on and off?

Because I would find that very useful, Other wise i might go with the 'BAD AXE 2'

is that good?

Bad Axe is cool but why do you NEED a remote to turn off your rig? I mentioned it in my earlier reply; p5k is outstanding! - sorry no remote on that one.

lmao,

well I would like to have the posabability to walk into my study, press a button on the remote, and then my pc turn on, instead of having to bend down to turn my pc on... [Coolermaster Stacker 830 BLACK]

I think i might go with the P5W DH Deluxe as it has alot of good reviews, and also looks like a good board, although some people on here sayed P5 boards are bad? why would this be?

Thanks
Daniel

Daniel:

I've not heard that p5 boards are bad. My current is p5w dh deluxe and now u/g to p5k by this weekend. Both are good boards. Had I not purchased the p5w dh deluxe like the day they came out, I'm pretty sure I would have gone with the p5b (another great board).

Curious; why would you want to turn your computer on/off anyway? You mentioned that it was in your study so I assume noise is no issue?
