Why you claim the 1GB is worse? You said yourself the card doesn't exist right now.

And there are plenty reviews out there in which the 2900 beats the GTS convincingly in many of the benchmarks (including the latest ones on tweaktown). And they ARE improving dramatically with drivers at the moment.. again, check the Tweaktown review.

Having that said, the 8800GTS beats it still when high levels AA/AF come into play. But that does NOT mean the 2900 is a POS. Since one card is a hair better (and worse in other benchies), does that make the other one a POS? Is the 7900 series a POS because the X19xx series beats it? I don't think so.

Please refrain from further fanboyish comments without any proof.

OK. If you insist in posting garbage, don't post at all, please. How is almost 13k 3dmark 06 not better than 11,156 3dmark. My 8800GTS 320 cant hold up. Although I still firmly beleive its the better overall card, saying it costs $270. But, I'm not going to smack talk it to the point of being stupid.

Hehe I don't think he did Twice the power consumpsion of the G80? He's over reacting.

For the record, 3DMark scores don't mean much.

A 8600GT dominates a 7600GT in 3DMark by almost 3500, yet, at the VERY BEST, it ties the 7600GT in games. Usually it's out-done by 5-10FPS.

ide rather go with another 8800gts and it be with EVGA - that way i can always step up later if i need more graphical ponies. Do any vendors for the ATI card even have a similar step up program? if not 2900xt FTL!
