1. The backward compatibility i stated
3. very very few games

5. powerful, but game companies aren't making good games for it?
6. ps2 > ps3 sadly it's true. power is nothing without quality games
more to come when i think of more... hahaha
1: All PS3 can play PS1 games; only the 40GB doesn't play PS2 games. The reason being since they have sold so many PS2 and the Slimline is now cheaper than dirt, people can chose whether they want to pay extra to play PS2 games... Plus, the 20 and 60GB consoles are more prone to hardware failure because of the presence of the PS2 components, another reason why they removed most of it in the 80GB and all of it in the 40GB.
2: How much do you pay for a 360 with a decent HDD (120GB is like 150-200 bucks? ***? PS3 can upgraded with almost any laptop HDD on the market!), doesn't come with WiFi, makes you pay for its online service every year, and is prone to hardware failure? I think the PS3 is rightly priced, people just don't see anything beyond the price of the console itself.
3: Exclusives PS3 games:
Uncharted, Lair, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank Future, Warhawk, Folklore, Motorstorm, Time Crisis 4 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Heavenly Sword and Eye of Judgement (And PSN games Super Stardust HD, Everyday Shooter and PixelJunk Monsters)
Consider that most of the 360 "exclusives" are also on PC (Bioshock and Mass Effect for exemple) and there's little left aside Forza 2 and Halo 3...
Incoming Exclusives for PS3:
Metal Gear Solid 4, Haze, Gran Turismo 5, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Motorstorm 2, Wardevil (look this one up people!!!) and more I can't think of right now...
4: Yes, the Wii is kicking ass and Nintendo certainly knows what they're doing. But Nintendo isn't gunning for the same people than Microsoft and Sony. Also, the Wii is the console for which people buy less games and spend less time with beyond the first 3 months. The fact that it's always out of stock creates an artificial demand; which makes people who don't even really want one buy one if they find it on store shelves.
5: Ever heard of MGS4? And what about CoD4, Rock Band, GH3, Burnout Paradise, DiRT, GTA4... Surely no company cares about the PS3
6: Back in the PS2 era, Nintendo wasn't very threatning and Microsoft was a newcomer. Now Nintendo has a killer marketing going after all the 80% of the population that was still untapped so far and Microsoft set the foot in the market first this time just like the PS2 did in the previous generation.
But let me ask you, do they still sell Gamecubes and Xbox? No. The PS2 is still revelant because companies still port their Wii games to the PS2 and PSP. Sony can fight on all the grounds, Microsoft and Nintendo can't: Microsoft doesn't do handhelds and Nintendo doesn't do HD graphics (The Wii can't even play DVDs... Sad!!)
EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I think every consoles have great features. The PS3 definitely has its shortcomings as well. But it's simply not any of the ones you mentioned... If people take time to think about it, the PS3 truly is a better choice; especially if you own a decent PC and don't care about Super Smash Brawl and/or don't have friends living nearby to play the Wii.
