no wonder ps3 is a complete failure... a good console with few games = failure. Kinda like having a game with ultra realistic graphics and the game sucks..
Wow, none of the consoles out are complete failures. Each has their great features.
Wii - Appealing to all ages, cheap, innovative, huge variety of games ie. Manhunt 2, Endless ocean, Smash bros, Mario Kart, MLB 2k8.
PS3 - Internet, Folding@Home, Blu-ray, free online play that is good, great graphics, good exclusives ie. Uncharted, Motorstorm, GT5P, Resistance, Warhawk, built in bluetooth and wi-fi, easily upgradeable hdd
Xbox 360 - XBL, great graphics, all the good sports games, big library of good games ie. GoW, Halo3, Mass Effect

Flaws of each:
Wii - TONS AND TONS of crappy games, bad graphics, HORRIBLE online, no DVD playback
PS3 - $400, lots of games that are on 360 and ps3 the ps3 versions were worse, but not all.
360 - small HDD or none, $350(for pro, which is the most popular) no built in wifi, RRoD, expensive wireless adapter and bigger hard drive

I have all 3 consoles and I like them all. I do like the PS3 the best, but I still love my 360, Wii is alright.

I dont see why not. As long as you run a DLNA compliant media server on a MAC, you'll be able to stream media just fine.

_ two more USB ports
_ SD slot (and others)
_ Some backward compatibility
_ 40GB more space
technically its 30 GB more space because of a 10GB download to be backwords compatable..

BTW whats everyone mean by folding??

And what do you really NEED 80gb for? Music and movies you can stream from another PC anyways, nothing that you download from PS Store is that big. Sure, you can install linux on the drive, but how much space does that really take up?

Not to mention the 20gb looks the best, all black ftw

Cheap looking plastic chrome ftl
20GB will go quik since games take memory to play...i dont mind it though if load time goes down then WOOT specially for oblivion lmao...kinda sux how DMC4 takes what 4 gigs? but oh well its deletable! wish all were like oblivion where it just ate the memory then gave it back when it was done tho.

hi ElMikeTheMike, thanks for the great thread.

Im seriously thinking about getting myself a ps3, but the one word i havnt been hearing in this thread is "record".

Yeah, i want a new system i can play the latest GTA on, and i want to be able to watch movies no matter what format they are in, and for that the ps3 looks like its got everything covered, but what about recording?

can i record my favourite programmes from the tv onto a dvd disc, or the harddive using the ps3?

will i be able to move/copy stuff from the ps3 harddrive to my pc if they are both connected within my LAN in both directions?

You can put media on a DVD or external hard drive and view them on the PS3 that way. And you can copy media from your PC to the PS3 over the LAN, but not vice versa. I personally use a 500GB external for all my media and such.
