What The PS3 Can Do - Page 22

There are a few exceptions, like in my case since I owned a Gamecube and not a PS2. I'd only use the backward compatibility for Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Final Fantasy X and X2 and possibly Tekken. I do have the 40 GB and sometimes wish I had the BC, but I can live without it.

Nice thread btw ElMike.

well...i am one person who would like to play the many PS1 and PS2 games i still have, especialy with the upscailing options!

we have 4 different versions of PS3 out there...20gb - 40gb - 60gb - 80gb....
BUT
The UK can only get 1 available version brand new in the shops!
(the worst version out the 4)
is it any wonder why SONY are losing money?!

I want a PS3 for ALL PS games & BlueRay!
Not just blueray and MGS4!

Bit disapointed as was really going to get a PS3...
now i find i cani get the model i want caus ei stay in UK?! - come on SONY...get a grip!

and i ain't buying a 2nd hand thing off amazon or ebay for stupid amounts of money...
as with ANY SONY hardware...its bound to break and not be covered under warranty!!
(going in past experinces with SONY products - only from 1996 onwards!)

grrr!..i am away for a pint of cidre!
SONY - go back to the 80's and discover how to build robust things that warrant the price tag!

gd opening thread post though - as got more info on this thread than i have reading on SONYS one!

You should make a note about the newer 80GB(non-MGS4 ones) and the new 120(or is it 160?)GB models having the same features as the 40GB.

Thank you. This has been a very helpful and informative original post and thread. The graph (type-name escapes me) is most helpful as I learn best with pictures....

I was debating which console to get, but it looks like I will go pick up a PS3 tomorrow so that I can give Resistance2 a go.

I look forward to utilizing all the functions that this entertainment unit provides.

Got rid of the old venn diagram and replaced it with a new chart I found.

Also updated some broken links.

To my knowledge the PS1 compatibility in the newer PS3s (non BC) was limited.

not that I've heard. If thats true, then Sony can't sell PS1 games on the PSN store?

Anyways - posted to bump this.
