What amazed me was the thickness of the IHS, its "SOLID" and heavy!

If anybody knows me I beg to differ. I chipped my core on my 3700+ because when I was checking for clearance on the lever housing and silicon my Tuniq annihilated it. But just be careful.

If I wouldn't have checked that the heatsink would have sat crooked and wouldn't have given sufficient surface contact(or kill my KACAE ).

Yeah... The IHS alone makes up for a good 80% of the weight, EASILY.

Got it done! The IHS came right off. No solder at all. It said "AMD 2005" on it too.

here are temps before IHS removal. Idle on my temp software NEVER goes below 25 so I'm not sure of the temp drop on idle.
