Probably because you didn't have a legit copy of Vista and thus couldnt activate it. I'll bet any money thats what you did.

I switched back in 2 weeks, if there is a ripped vista that you can only use for 2 weeks, I know nothing of it. I just do not like vista.

Vista is very nice. With memory being so cheap, 4GB + Vista = A Wonderful Life.

I just installed Vista Ultimate yesterday. I'm really quite amazed with it. Everything runs incredibly smoothe, drivers automatically found and updated for me, is quite practical with its features, is very pretty (love dreamscene and windows+tab), and boots up fast with the new sleep mode.

So far the I love the design and the ease of the system to do and set-up different things. The security and firewall also seems to be much improved.

My favorite feature has to be the instant search. That is a blast!

It is well worth the memory it consumes.

Have fun with those out of date drivers.

Vista popped up today and said "New 8800GTX Drivers" and they were the 158.18s. Old...

I was scared to install Vista at first so I bought another HD to do a dual boot until I got used to it. Now I am Vista 24/7 baby...
I agree that the drivers are starting to get there (except nvidia) but everyhting else is awesome. What a fast OS and my gameing is getting better with each new release of drivers. Congrats and enjoy...

I am liking it so far. Maybe a few things not as much as xp includinig the benching but Ill just have to make my system faster.

As ar as playing games with 2gb of memory I havnt had much of a problem so far. I havnt played much but HL2 episode1 ran great on high settings and CSS works better then it did on my XP install. I am waiting for the 64bit disk to get here before I install anything else since I will be doing a fresh install on that more then likely.
