Asus P5N32-E SLI Memory issue

Thread Starter
Alright, I just got my P5N32-E SLI and I have 2gb (2x1gb sticks) of GEIL DDR2 PC2-8500. I tried running both of them , just one , then one in eatch slot but nothing. When I turn on the system all the fans come on , cpu, gpu, case, but nothing happens... No beep. NADA.
Ive seen that some people have had memory issues because it undervolts the ram.
How can I fix this without having to go buy more ram ?

The P5N32e SLI DOES Undervolt the RAM.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS then doing this.

You need to change the OC profile to manual. Then go in and set it to 2.0V and timings to 4-4-4-12 Unlinked.

Hopefully you can get it

You dont need to use the BIOS to clear it.

Look in the manual for the CMOS clr jumper - Its on the mobo near the STAT connectors

Ugh, what a pain - sorry to hear that.

Early BIOS revisions of the board were very fussy about what RAM is used, but things are a lot easier with later builds.

My board (bought in February) came with the 602 BIOS, and defaulted my OCZ 8500 RAM at 1.8v/800MHz. Fortunately that was enough to get in the BIOS and tweak it to 2.1v.

Does the Geil RAM definitely need 2.1v to run at 800MHz?
Since it's a new build, have you ruled out all other possible components/connections etc?

It sounds like getting hold of some 1.8v DDR2 to test with really is the next step.
If you can't borrow/pinch some then buying a cheapy stick of 512Mb for testing might be your only option.

My bet its not the RAM.....check your front connections again and again. When I did my C2D build, I had the very same problem at first.

Thats what I ended up doing and it booted up the first time with the cheap ram().
