Another sli question

Ok, I have a bfg 7600gt oc pcie. I want to sli, but I can't find a decent price on a bfg. My question is what am I limited to...is it possible to get a low evga(79.99) and overclock just that one card so that it matches the bfg?
Can I mix different companies?
Can I mix like the 7600gs and overclock it to the gt's speed?
Just wonder what kinds of things I can do to up my performance a little. I intend to do a total upgrade again in about a year, but I need just a little more for now.

Yes you can mix other companies, aslong as it is THE SAME CARD. So you can't mix GS with a GT.

But still, I would get the same card from the same companie. I think that's better for your performance, and will get no problems.

Well evga has a model that is a tiny bit faster core 570mhz vs 580mhz and useable 1450 vs 1500

and the evga is about $10 less than the bfg

Hhmm..I don't know about those speed differences tho. i would get the BFG. It's not worth the extra 50 Mhz on memory and 10 mhz on core to run into troubles and RMA it. You can always OC it It's worth the extra 10 bucks.

When running two Nvidia cards with different clock speeds in SLi, the core and memory clocks will automatically downclock to the speed of the lowest card. When it comes to overclocking, any adjustments you make to core and memory speeds will apply to both cards simultaneously.
