Low 3DMark06 Scores with 7800GTX - Page 2

Thread Starter
So I did a little digging on the internet and I think I may have found my little problem. The current rating requirement for 12V is 26A for this card. I am using the PSU that came with the case and its max current rating is 15A.

thx for replies btw

NO.

Try this one instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182032

Keep in mind that the 26A rating is for the whole system, not just the video card.

Your 3dmark06 score is definitely too low, I remember scoring over 4k with my old 7800gt (overclocked).

no, but i did get the driver version wrong, it's 91.47 from tweak-r-us. this is a modified driver, and it work great. can't give you a link because their site is down right now. but i always get my drivers from them

thx for replies folks

another thing or two tho - dont want to go buy a big PSU for nothing.. 1 - I'm not using the PCIe plug that comes from the PSU, I'm using something that combines two molex plugs into one PCIe plug. My question is that if I'm using two molex plugs at presumably 15A each, wouldnt I be getting my video card the 30A? 2 - Assuming the above is wrong, mootsfox - being less than 26A, will your suggested card be enough for OCing? just want to be sure...again thx for replies everyone...been most helpful.

you should use the PCIe plug from the PSU

and you should buy another PSU, IMO
