Is DDR3 worth it?

This is the cheapest I could find

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=604780

That's the same as about $420 for 2GB of RAM.

I need some help on deciding what RAM to buy, how's this instead?

http://www.memory-configurator.co.uk...kit/index.html

same as $280 for 2GB

DDR3 won't be worth it until it matures like DDR2 did.

Not worth it atm except for bragging rights.

Same speed DDR2 will run exactly the same, DDR3 just allows for higher speeds and more money to be spent.

Why? They're 800MHz and the one I'm thinking of buying is 1000MHz and is only £10 more expensive

well after lookin at the first link you posted i though both were pc 6400 ..sorry overlooked to fast.
never the less imo team ram is better than gskill . and reviews seem to confirm this impression of mine (when they are compared) .

btw will you be using the E6300 with DDR2 8000 ? sounds like a overkill dont you think ?

ohh well just my 2 cents , in the end what matters is that you are happy with a product of your choise (and not the choise of others)
