Not to suggest that Apple is going to overtake Windows anytime soon, but the belief that Windows is unbeatable forever is just silly. Back in the early to mid 80s, the Apple ][ was king of the hill for computer gaming, after all. Computer stores were lined with wall-to-wall Apple games, with nary a PC game in sight. By the end of the decade, the trend had reversed.

Times change, and gaming platforms change with them. Don't assume that the status quo stays forever.

You, my friend, are crazy. I like WC, but it's nothing compared to X-Wing and Tie-Fighter. WC didn't even go 3D until WC3, and even then it was a much slower, less exciting game than X-Wing.

So anyone here used Cider? Are they going to nerf any of these games to run with the 7300/1300's in the macs?

I think its cool that there will be more then the like 5 games they have.. but the X1900XT is not a "1337" card, yes it "can" play most games but only on medium, probably low on the emulator...
Actually VISTA performs flawlessy on my 3200, and it was perfectly fine with 1 gb of ram (I upgraded to 2gb b/c ram is cheap). If only people would stop using their brainpower to complain about Vista, and go learn about it. (it was vista business, so it had the aero and all the shineys)

Back on track...
Due to the limited options of GPU's for macs, perhaps the games could be optimized for those specific cards. Of course, that would require effort on EA's part. I mean when all they do to make the new football game is change the numbers on the backs, and make about 3 new textures, its easy to see effort is not EA's no.1 attribute.

S'good to know that Mac Pro's can run nearly any X1 series ATi card and G70 series card. Not to mention that 10.4.10's Q build is probably going to accept G80's. We're still waiting to see on that one.

Some of which are straight plug-and-play, others requiring a tad bit more knowledge to do so.

Can also order the following:

NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 512MB, Stereo 3D (2 x dual-link DVI)

Yes, more for the technical OpenGL crowd, and not for gaming.

Oh yeah, I forgot -> guys XBox 360 $499 = much cheaper than a decked out home built computer -> better games -> much much faster

That's prolly their $4,000 system, right?

Every piece of hardware you have on the mac we have on the PC except ours is better. X1900? We have 8800 Ultra. Apple can emulate games at 10fps, we can play them natively.

Face it, PCs are better for gaming and are very well rounded. If you think Microsoft sucks so bad, lets see you make an Operating System to compete with them. (That means more than 5% of the market, apple fanboys)
