Another budget rig for parents

My parents have a single core 2.0ghz Dell w/512MB RAM right now that the 20 GB HD is filling up and is slowing way down. They need to replace the computer. Its about 4 years old. Here is my initial thinking on what I want to put together for them. They have speakers and input devices already so those aren't needed, I also have a OS to put on there so that won't be needed.

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811190072

HD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136062

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128045

DDR2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231102

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103036

PSU (Needed? Or can I get away with the one in the case?): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817189005

CPU Cooler: Have a stocker from my 3800 I can use right?

Optical Drives: Can I throw a CDRW and DVD drive from a Dell or are those proprietary? I am assuming its an IDE drive of some sorts, I haven't cracked open the case yet.

Total Shipped to 49301: $341.57

Odds are I'll be swapping memory and processors from my computer, AData 1gb (5x12) and x2 3800 for the memory and cpu listed here so I can over clock some more without being limited by the ram and windsor core. They wont ever know the difference either. My stuff is quite new, as of probably 2 months ago.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Looks really good. Usually the PSU that comes with a case is not the best quality, however since it's going in your parents case I think it should be fine. Worse comes to worse you can always buy one later if that one fails.

Pretty good choice for a budget build\\swapping of parts LOL

X2 3800+ in your current rig!
Give mom and dad the 3800+ and put the X2 3600+ in your PC. Why...
1. They will have a default setting faster PC since I doubt you weant to OC there rig and even of you do they will still have a great PC.
2. You'll have a better OCer
3. Better for everyone

I would drop that case combo becuase you can never be to sure about no name psu's. Instead, might I suggest a cheap rosewill case and then I would definately go with the first psu choice you had.

Ive got a Rosewill case now, I don't know if I would buy it again after having it for a bit now.

Im looking for a Mini Tower case for them. They have always had this huge DELL sitting here and its pretty obnoxious on their counter.

49301, Western Michigan? I'm 49509 .

By the way, that power supply in the case will do just fine if you're not overclocking anything. You don't have a GPU, so it will work. http://www.extreme.outervision.com/p...ulatorlite.jsp
