new to overclocking

Thread Starter
Ok here is the deal i just built my first comp on my own. Stem to stern it is all my effort. I have read the where to start guide on the site, but am still looking for some advise or tips to help save me from some of the noob mistakes. Now i want to start to overclock, and an evaluation of my machine. What monitoring programs should i use? I have speedfan, but all my fans don't show up. only the fan that is on the heat sink the case fans are wired to the PSU so i am guessing that they aren't monitored for that reason. My ambient temp in my room is 22C my CPU is running around 26C idle, and 34C under gaming load.(the high temp might be off, i can't remember for sure). I did see a few degree drop in temps, between stock cooling and the 120 Ultra. The Bois is stock, and the Thermalright 120 ultra is new (12 hours of running). From what i have read they take 200 hours to break in, should i wait till then to start OCing or just have at it. Thanks in advance.

Well, I dont really think you need to overclock it much, Its a really good system. Start slow
NEVER jump up speeds to quick. Use Orthos to make sure all changes are stable.
