What next?

Ok so at the moment i have a 15" TFT (1024x768) and a 32" LCD HDTV (1366x768) with my pc running on it at 1280x768...

Now the HDTV is great for watching movies and tv episodes that i have on my pc but i dont think its cutting it for gaming due to the resolution.

Now im looking to upgrade my TFT that i really dont use as it is so small!!!

So my choice is really either a 19" widescreen or a 22" widescreen (i prefer widescreen because it just looks so much nicer!)

A 19" monitor (1440x900) will cost me about £95.. with 5ms response, vga/dvi

whereas a 22" monitor (1680x1050) will set me back closer to double the amount at about £200... with similar specs.

now i really dont have much experience with higher resolutions on monitors so can anyone who has either help me out with what my best option would be?..

im inclined towards the 22" as i design graphics quite alot and they look better, but they are more expensive and would require more frequent graphics card updates...

thanks if anyone can help

If you're a designer and you make money off of your work, the choice would be a 22" Widescreen monitor. The screen real-estate is an effective efficiency booster. Allowing the designer to take advantage of a larger workspace and to organize pallets in a way that allows he or she to maneuver comfortably.

Just as well, being able to sit back from the monitor decreases the stress on your eyes, something that a designer pretty-much relies on. I mean, without them, what ya gonna do? =P

For gaming? That's a different story. I'd think if you wanted to play max settings on everything, in the future, then sure... upgrading constantly's going to be it for you. However, it's not always imperative or immediate.

Audi votes for 22".
