Looking for part suggestions

Thread Starter
While I'm not new to OCing, I am new to Water Cooling. I read all of the stickies, but the one that suggested parts had really old links, so I was wondering what you guys thought were good parts to go with.

The reason I'm switching to WC is because I live in a Fraternity house that's almost 100 years old, so we don't have ac. This means that my room sits at around 85-90 F all the time, even with fans running, and my cpu core temp sits at around 50C, when it normally sits at around 40-42C.

Another problem I think I'm having is that I had to use the warranty on my 7900GTO because the ram went bad, and they sent back a 7900GTX, which runs hotter and makes ambient temps in my case go way up.

Any help would be awesome!

Quiet or performance now? This will affect radiator choice.

don't you guys think his room temps might affect the WC setup maybe some much better cast fans and a realy good cpu sink would work for him........

don't get me wrong I want to water cool every computer I have but the ambiant temps seem kinda highfor WC But I don't know the math involed at these temps to see if its worth it....

do you guys know the math?

im all about performance over quiet, my two case fans are noisy as hell but push tons of air, so i'm used to noise.

Read: http://www.overclock.net/other-cooli...ures-full.html

Of course ambient affects cooling performance. What watercooling allows is a smaller delta... difference of load temps over ambient. A HSF with a delta of 20C will always be beaten by a WC system with a delta of 6C.

A good water system can get his idle temps to less than 1C above ambient. However, with a good system in his 32C room... he can get 33C idle and 42C loaded.
