You guys are all crazy saying nothing on PC can hang.

Cakewalks Sonar producer edition is flat out amazing. My own band recorded a CD with it and it sounded better then our friends band who had actually payed a local studio to do it.

Yeah if you do not have much knowledge a professional studio would sound better. But with alittle know how and decent equipment you can do a great job.

Pro Tools will work as well. And if anyone here actually knows anything about mixing and or producing music you know Pro Tools is what most producers and sound engineers use today. Even for professional recordings.

I may not know as much about computers as most Overclock.net members. But I do know music. It is my main thing.

My friend runs a recording studio in his basement. sound room, several mics, all kinds of stuff...like 23 channel mixer and whatnot...

So anyways...he's got Sonar and Pro Tools, and a few other programs...I might ask him about it tomorrow if I remember.

then he sounds exactly like us lol

Do me a favour and ask him what he prefers for recording distorted guitar through a cab. A few condenser mics or a ribbon mic.

But anyway, I promise you if he is worth his salt he will tell you Pro Tools is amazing. And I can allready tell he is if he runs his own studio in a basement.

Errrrr. If ya thought IT had to many options than you will not like anything that is worth anything.

Recording, mixing and mastering music is NOT an easy process. Not for the musicians themselves or the sound engineers.

I promise you this though. If you just keep tinkering arround with it, do alot research. I mean just read, read and read till your eyes are about to pop out it will get awhole lot easier and you eventually have a pretty decent grasp on how to make decent home recordings.

It's a WHOLE lot of work at the start but in the long run it will beat the hell out of paying a local studio an hourly rate to record your music.

Another benefit of doing it yourself is 100% complete creative controll in everything from effects, to song structure to anything. In short if you can think it you can do it. As long as your willing to devote the time and energy!

Beatbox...

If you just want to do this for fun do it in school. Most of these programs are for people that are really into it.
