MoBo: ASUS L1N64-SLI WS Dual Socket L (Socket 1207FX) nForce 680a SLI
RAM: OCZ Platinum Revision (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800
Video: EVGA 8800GTS 320MB PCI-e

first setup in awhile ... client wants to go "big" obviously ..
comments ? ..conerns ? ... overkill ? .. makes no sense at all ? ... ?

For gaming it would be better to get a e6600 and a GTX, the differance in price between the two is really that big. If he isn't gaming, then that 8800gts is wasted and you could get a 7300 or something and save a few $.

That would be a great server setup...
Multi chip/multi core for a gamer is rather odd... but it would also be one bad to the bone folder

why not just pick up a Q6600 and a p5k deluxe?
It'd be cheaper, and the performance would be much increased, theAMD quads are losing inperformance Vs. the intel...

I've read many a review that has said the 4x4 system does not really perform all that well. The board is a server design that should have stayed there becuase intense gaming requires a different kind of demand on the system. By having dual everything and having it all connected it raises latentces imensely. I would suggest going the Intel quad route as it perfoms much better for gaming and does not need two of everything.

why would you go w/ a 320mb gts, get an ultra or gtx if your gonna spend that much on mobp and cpu(s).
