Good Rams

Thread Starter
I need some faster rams since my turbos max out at 916Mhz and my CPU is still below stock voltage. I'm looking for something capable of at least 1000Mhz or so, but more is always nice. As cheap as possible too.

So far I'm looking at this, but I've heard the g.skill HZ's are good too. What's best for the money is basically what I'm asking.

Go with the ballistixs. I find them to be higher grade, I have OCed with both HZs and ballistixs and the ballistixs went higher.

This is the stuff that I have, except when I bought them, they were $320. :swearing:

I get DDR2-1200 @ 2.15v. But some people haven't been getting such good luck, so I dunno.

I'd go for the Ballistix to be safe.

Those will hit 1000 easy. All Crucial ballistix use D9s so you basically want the cheapest ones. For some reason Newegg is selling the DDR2 800s for considerably less than the DDR2 667s.

Interesting, still more expensive than the 1066 though if you count the rebate

G.Skill DDR2 800 HZs are capable of DDR2 1200, I got mine as high as that with 2.40v and 5-5-5-15 timings, I didn't try higher but I think they may get just a little higher.

These? They are still more expensive than the crucial 1066, though. Will they overclock higher than the crucial?

Oh wow I didn't see that rebate. That is a fantastic deal. The 1066 use D9GXKs which are slightly better D9s. You really aren't going to get better ram than that for $89. They will overclock to at least DDR2 1200 and probably higher.
