I agree with that, I'm just saying AMD has been on top before and I have confidence that it will come back but we will not see the next Intel. Intel has it's name out and even the noobs that think the CRT monitor is the computer and don't know what that box is know about Intel. Barcelona is not out yet so why judge it before it's out? Let's see what happens when it comes out!

I own Intel stock. I have watched it climb from the $18 something I bought it at to the $24 something it is at today. I cannot wait for AMD to be bought out, when that happens my stock will sky-rocket.
You are very lucky but if Barcelona is kick-ass when it comes out then you may drop...

True, true and true all due to Intel's marketing not exactly the performance of the processors... But now yes, mostly due to c2d performance.. but either way I'm just begging for AMD to come back, bought out or not it has to come back.

pauldovi, regardless of your obvious siding with intel, for the sake of the market and the consumer, you and everyone else should hope that intel will always have healthy competition, otherwise you get a monopoly with unreasonable pricing and less incentive to innovate.

That, and that intel is a ruthless corporation that tries its hardest to eliminate the competition through less than ethical methods.

Intel is a ruthless company... Microsoft is evil. Blah Blah Blah. Business is ruthless. Those that are successful control the market.

If I were just a "enthusiast" I would very much so care for the well being of AMD. But what I hope for or want is irrelevent to what is actually happening. Intel is dominating the market. Plain and simple.

However, I am more than an enthusiast. I am an Intel stockholder. I have more to be concerned with than how fast my Core 5 Octet will be.

OK, ignore my second paragraph. It is nevertheless in the best interest of every consumer in the market, personal or corporate, that there not be a single company 'dominating' any market. You are a consumer. And as a shareholder, if intel starts getting lazy in their R&D due to a lack of competition and need for improvement, you can bet there won't be sky-high stocks.

Intel is ahead at the moment, but they are not dominating. Only in the past year have they redeemed themselves for their Netburst era. AMD still has a double-digit market share, even if it is from previous years.

No-one wants a true monopoly to be had in this industry.

If Intel deminates the market (they already do), and thus they start slow down their R&D (which saves money) the stock prices will sky rocket.

I don't think Intel is "dominating" per se. AMD still has a decent share of the Server market, they still have some of the enthusiast market (though their numbers there are dwindling currently) and now Dell has started carrying AMD chips as well. Dell was solely Intel for quite some time, but now that they have AMD PCs, that's a lot more AMD chips potentially out there. Of course, ever single computer on my school's campus has Intel procs (Dell Optiplexes, Macs, servers) So that isn't all that great for AMD.

Intel's market share has risen in all sectors since Q3 06.

Yeah they need something like 333... so it would be more like 333mhz x 5 = 1650 DDR which then becomes 3330mhz effective.. a lot better then intels offering in both aspects, but i dunno since the actual CPUs come into play.

Wait isnt the HTT 3.0 or something supposed to come out with K10, so do they not have HTT3 boards ready to test on or are they releasing it onto AM2 now?

As I said in my FIRST post on this thread, the new AMD chips SHOULD be implementing HTT 3.0 which will hopefully be alot faster!

lets hope so. if AMD ever needed a new product to kick ass that time is now. it would seem(from the outside) that intel has hold of their balls and keep applying more pressure with every week that goes by lets just hope for AMD's sake that barcelona is as good as they are touting it ot be otherwise, we could end up with a gooey mess
