Sound card w/digital out? - Page 2

Just to keep it simple for me would something like the Creative Audigy 2 ZS work for what I want with the digital out to receiver capability? I can probably get one cheap. Thats why I ask.

Only one way to find out. I do not see why it would not work. But listening to something encoded at 2.0 running 5.1 does not always sound the best.

I know you said coax, but if you can live with Optical, get the Chaintech AV-710. It uses a similar chip to much more expensive cards (VIA Envy), but doesn't have the same recording capabilities as those cards, but great output.

If you're outputting to a receiver, your DACs and Amps in the receiver will be doing all the work anyway. For under $30, it's hard to go wrong.

That may be just what I am looking for!!!!! I reallly don't want a kickass independent sound card yet............but I will defitely check it out . Thanks for the help!!
