SilenX Ixtrema PRO 120MM - Blue LED Fan 14 DBA (72 cfm) 14dba (13 bucks)

vs

Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F (1,600rpm) 120mm S-FDB Fan ((67cfm) 28dba (15.5 bucks)

the silenx seems too good to be true...

cause it is... SilenX exaggerate their specs or test under special conditions.
Once again...

the silenX are really expensive, and from what i heard only half as good as claimed.
i personally wouldnt want to try them. the scythe ones arent bad, but are those two really your only choise? if not, i would recommend Thermaltake's Thunderblade series, or if you want more airflow at the cost of a little more noise, the BlueEye series.

I personally recommend Yate Loons and Silverstone for quiet fans.

I have 3 Scythe S-Flex SFF21Ds in my machine right now (1 exhaust, 2 on my GeminII) and I LOVE them!

These are the lower CFM versions, but the pretty much the same.

The Ds are completely silent (<10dB) and move a good amount of air (~35 cfm) for such low RPM <1000. I am assuming the F series are impressive as well (I really love my Fs!!!). I am really pleased with Scythe and only buy thier fans anymore. I do not have any experience with SilenX, so I can't actually compare, just tell you how pleased I am with Scythe.
