I was having trouble getting past 3ghz. I had just been raising FSB and everything was on Auto. I tried 1.45 vcore and stuff but nothing worked. I hadnt tried the sync, didnt know what it did and it didnt say in the manual.

However, i tried 1.5vcore and 3.2ghz and that seemed stable in orthos for like 15min (i know i should test things longer). So i set vcore to 1.525 and 3.4ghz and orthos has been running for 16 minutes. Temps havent exceeded 55C (EDIT: just now got to 57, now 58 as i am typing, but its pretty warm in this room and my dad just turned off the ceiling fan..59, crap) (i just installed the BT today, been breaking it in today some, testing OCs and turning the pc off for awhile). I am going to run this for awhile and see if it fails.

I do not think that is a good thing. You should not have it reaching 60c. Maybe you should calm down a bit. I can tell you are excited, who would not be. You should test it longer and check the temperatures. Try to make your VCORE lower and back to your 3.0ghz. Test it for over 10 hours. 24 hours would be the BEST though. Run two PRIMES. OCing is something done slowly not quickly. =D I don't want you to risk losing your cpu. What kind of cooling do you have for your CPU? If you want to go any higher Phase or WC is something to think of, if not, I believe you have reached your max if you also have tried tightening your timings.

Yes, I'm aware. I do plan on testing while I'm asleep.

Do you know what Batch your cpu is?

I can't get 3.4 yet. Good job though

Maybe my BT is not seated right? Or maybe this is just what happens when you throw 1.5+ volts into a cpu?

Sorry but..who were you talking to?

Run two Prime95s at the same time???

I have backed down a bit. I'm now at 3150.9Mhz. Vcore is still up there but I will reduce it once I'm sure it passes Orthos for a bit.

Oh to Lude, but you should try it too. This will give the best stress. If you can go over 10 hours, I'd say it'd be pretty good. Do the torture test.

Are you temperatures high? Bomb?

I figured

Yeah, I think the timings were on optimal or what ever I just wanted to boot and see if it was stable before I go on an tweak.

It varies in temperature. It has only peaked to 59 twice in 53 minutes, and didnt last a minute there. It averages 53. Like right now its going from 48-50. I have a Big Typhoon with Arctic Silver 5. I am going to be putting on a better fan soon. My Delta fan wire is too short, i might just make that longer. It's 152cfm. I wasnt planning on going any higher for now. I was just going to see how it did and it is doing fine so far. I dont plan on trying anything higher until i get a better fan and if this is even stable for 6+ hours.

Did you find out what Batch/week cpu you have?

Wow your temps look A lot better compared to mine.
I have a BT with an Extreme Turbine on and it peaks at 64-65 for a Second with anything Above 1.5volts. And yes I have As5

Maybe I need to re-seat?

At the moment Orthos is running for 15 minutes with 1.48 Vcore and it hasn't gone above 55C.
