Hello all

Thread Starter
Hi -First post!

Joined 2 weeks ago but had to reinstall some disks on my RAID (mirrors) as Vista 32 wouldn't read dynamic disks. All disks are 'basic' now.

Reliability is important to me but I also want to make use of my kit for faster performance. Yet to start any overclocking except to my graphics using Asus Smart Doctor which was easy but not sure if it would run independently of FSB increases? I will no doubt be asking for help when things go wrong or I get stuck!

My striker extreme MoBo is suposed to run a FSB at up to 1066MHz and my RAM is PC-8500 1066MHz but not on Asus qualified vendors list. Only running it at 800MHz 5-5-5-9 at present. I assume the FSB and RAM will be able to run at 1066MHz if these are standard rates on their spec sheets. not sure what would happen to my CPU?

Any tips or good links from you guys?

i would say for you to run your FSB (CPU fequency) at 333, as it will run your memory at the FULL 1066mhz.

otherwise, update your bios and see if the option is available to run your memory at 1066 natively.

and WELCOME TO OCN! i'll help if i can!
