the mseed spirit amp seems to be a good bang for buck model.

This thread on head-fi gives a much more in-dept review of portable amps then I have listened to. I think I have 5 amps, he has 20.

For the budget amps, my PIMETA is head and shoulders above any other amp I've heard in the price range. The only thing that can come close is my LDII+ and that's a chineese tube amp. the LDII+ is better with some cans and actually has better synergy w/ my HD580's so it is in my main listening rig and my PIMETA is in my computer rig.

I just purchased a Singlepower PPX3 6CG7. so my LDII+ with extra tubes will probably go soon.

Thanks for bringing this amp to my attention. I did some research on it and it does seem to be a great "bang for your buck" amp. I just bought it on ebay for $65 shipped due to all the great reviews about it. Skylab didn't seem to be too impressed with it, but that is ok, he seems to recommend amps that are over the $120 mark and I'm just not looking to spend that much.

Soloz, I decided to bite the bullet on the DT770 Pro 80 ohm model due to your, and many others, review of how good it is for gaming. I got it for $148 shipped. I can't wait! Thanks for your help. Oh ya, and yes, I did check out yer site for the nice ICs but I'm just not looking to spend that kind of money on a really nice cable. Mostly because my ears are not refined at all yet, maybe in the future after having this setup for a while I'd be able to appreciate a nice IC.

There is an x-fi XtremeMusic ending soon on ebay that I'm bidding on to complete my new audio setup. I'm quite excited to get it all up and running and to hear all the stuff I've been missing out on for years. I'm just hoping that the drivers for vista will be rock solid including having EAX working by the time Crysis comes out. Thanks again for your help guys, and Soloz hopefully you won't regret helping me out next time we meet on CS when I plant a knife firmly in your back due to being able to hear exactly where you are

lol.

I also did a review on the LDM+ and found it to be a better amp than Skylab gave it credit for being. I'm not sure how good it will be with the Beyers though... I never tried it because the sound signatures just didn't seem to complement each other to me. That's why I didn't recommend it.

I did notice how they don't tend to be a match made in heaven, but it seems that after both are properly broken it it will suit me well, I'm big on bass and am not looking for perfectly refined audio. I've been running motherboard sound since with el cheapo speakers and or headphones since 1995. This will be quite a treat. My only other audio upgrading experience has been on my home theatre which is HD-DVD player to Sony receiver via 6 channel analog with ok speakers and sub and going to that from running the normal red / white RCAs was nuts, so I hope this will be a similar experience

well just got the DT770 pro in and just running it on my onboard sound I am already blown away. I absolutely love the way these cans put out bass. First song I played was Maria (I like it loud) by Scooter....Outstanding! Then I played some CS:S and and fell in love all over again with the shotgun because of how good it sounds to shoot Once I get the amp and xtrememusic in I'll make a full review in a new thread. So far so good!
