New nVidia Series? - Page 2

Go with an 8800GTS; either variation (640mb/320mb) will do you fine for now.

Do not buy a "superclocked" version though, it's simply a factory overclock that you could easily perform yourself and save $30-40 dollars by going with the base version.

I would also recommend eVGA, but I'm pretty sure the new card/series will not be released during the 3 month step-up period you would have if you bought the card now.

So, how reliable is the info that DX10 cards are not very good with actual DX10 software. Cause, if it is really reliable I will hold out, but if not 8800 it is.

Aura, the reason I want it factory superclocked is because I am a complete overclock noob. Never have done it, if you (or someone else) could tell me how to overclock an eVGA 8800 GTS 640 MB then I would do it, but till then I would rather get the factory overclocked version.

Cheers

Well ATM there are no games built from the ground up using DX10, currently there are only patched games using DX10. The patched versions do not do very well. For all we know they can do very well in DX10.
