I'm looking with Rivatuner for the ambient temps at the moment, do you reckon it's wrong?

Load temps are usually around 70c with 43-47% fan speed. I need to use 70% fan speed if I want to clock to 850/950 though, my card doesn't like to go above 65c at that clock .

Hi guys. I posted this over in the Corsair forum. I don't want to sidetrack this thread but thought I would ask here since I initially thought my troubles were due to 2900XT drivers (and part of it initially may have been):

I have a new PC (in my profile) and thought I was having video card problems. Screen would freeze in game and crash to restart. Things improved with updated ATI drivers. However, now I am getting more frequent BSOD 0x0000004E and 0x000000C4 errors. I ran the microsoft memtest that revealed no errors. Yesterday I ran Memtest86 that showed 14,000 errors after 8 passes. I was planning to test each stick alone and in different slots but the readme said to optimize the BIOS settings for the ram. It was set to 5-5-5-12 so I set it to the optimized setting of 5-5-5-15, hit F10 and then enter. The PC shut off completely for a second and then powered up to a dead screen without the BIOS post test beep. Restarting does the same. All PSU, fans, LEDs come on but no post beep. Did I fry my ram or mobo? Is the ram corrupt and putting it to those settings pushed it over the limit?

Sounds like bad ram. Try one stick at a time in different slots. Or try some mroe RAM if you have any.

How do i OC in CCC? I cannot find the location that shows clocks

Do you have the 8&6 pin plugs in your 2900XT? If not, you won't be able to overclock in CCC.

If you have both the 6 and 8 pin connected, look in the left panel of the advanced menu in CCC and the option should be in the last selection in that pane (overdrive or something like that).

Once you're in overdrive, make sure to click unlock and presto! Good luck.

Turns out I didn't have the right voltages. So, I have to pick up another stick of DDR2, restart the system, and reset the parameters. Then, I can memtest each of the Dominator sticks. Hopefully, and from what Ramguy at Corsair thinks, the Dominator should work fine. This may have been my problem from the begining and had nothing to do with the vid card.

Ahhh thanks guys, only got the 6+6 until my 6-8 converter comes

Also, 3DMark06 crashes for me upon start up (when that little box comes up before the main menu) Does anyone else have that problem?

I'm using 32bit, and i don't even get an error lol It sucks

I get up to this bit and it doesn't go any further. Then when i try clicking on it, it says it has stopped responding

Will re-download it tomoz and see if that fixes it.

I know it says it takes up to a minute to scan my system and it may not respond. But i have left it for 5 minutes and still no luck

Hmm, ok, I had this happen also. Try reinstalling the drivers and make sure to use driver cleaner pro and dump the recycle bin while in safe mode before reinstalling.
