How the hell do you cope with that noise!

I can' handle anything above 37% fan speed. After that it isn't silent.

I don't see why people say this card runs hot, it runs just as hot as my 7900GTO did. In fact cooler because it is only running at 37% fan speed.

I idle at 47C and load at 69C on air. That is about average for an air cooled card. And with 100% fan speed you should be hitting low 50's on air!

But i dare not run 100%, it sounds like a damn hoover in there! Would most probably make a damn vortex in my computer and suck my house up though a black hole.

100%? Hmm, I worried about the R600 fan broke and the entire R600 would blow up in no time. Imagine PC exploding the the house.

Man I am having some really frustrating issues with the 7.10 Catalyst.
It BROKE the shadows in the Crysis beta, and killed performance. I still have all of my dynamic shadows, but none of the environment shadows (regardless of settings)
I have reinstalled the driver and the game several times.
I tried to uninstall and install the 7.9 again, but it never took. After rebooting after installation the driver would never take effect, and in device manager it would say 'device could not start....'
*sigh*
Anyone have these issues? I tested the driver with BF2142 and it runs great. IQ is good too........but it killed Crysis.

Well I think that the issue really lies with Crysis beta.....I bet that it will be better when the next release arrives.
I just tested BF2142 and WOW it got a HUGE optimization! I ran it at 2x AA 16x AF and was getting around 65-90 FPS at 1920*1080! I then tried out 6x (used to be unplayable, ~ 15-40FPS) and it's now 35-65FPS! I don't even run it past 4x because I can't tell a difference at my res, but that just shows how much this driver improves this game.
I'm about to try out Bioshock.

Oh wow I just played Bioshock and I can say that this driver is definitely a good one.....except for Crysis beta. Ironically this is the game that I've been playing 24/7

I never handle it . That's just the max I've managed to get out of it, usually run 830/950 at 42% or 840/975 at 50/56%.

Ok So i have been reading, and reading, and reading..
And i cant find anything (prob not looking in the right areas)
but In the COD4 demo.. after about 15 min my screen turns to green and brownish vertical lines.
It was worse at first - i turned AA down to 2x, and drastically cut the settings.. then i was able to up my play time from 2 minutes to 15..
i tried removing drivers, and reinstalled. - nada
im going to try the ATI Driver removal tool and reinstall.

does anyone else have any suggestions? ihave tested everything (my pc is up to date on drivers for EVERYTHING. in fact this is a brand new rig i built about 2 months ago)
VISTA 32
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Socket AMD
MOBO: Asus M2N-E
RAM: 2GB OCZ PC2-6400 4-4-4-15
PSU: ANTEC TruePower Quattro 1000W
MONITOR: Samsung 20'' 206BW
Video Card: Diamond ATI 512MB 2900XT. i had it OC'd, but cut that out after problems.
Audio Card: HT Omega Striker 7.1 (turned down incase interfereance)
Case: Antec P182
My Quake Wars also crashes after about 10 minutes of just being in the MENU.. not even the game.
PLEASEEE help! lol other than running a dual boot, i dont know what to try. and id rather not dual boot as i have no idea what to do(althou can figure it out)
Also - the Crysis BETA was... odd. I could see my guy.. but the entire enviroment was plain colors. the mountain, was a mountain but ONLY the color red. no shading. just the color red.
Even my IT guy at work cant figure it out really..

Dang that's harsh. I would definitely uninstall and install the latest 32 bit Vista driver.

Having some issues installing ATI right now...not sure WTH.
